Passed away peacefully at home on April 18, 2016 at the age of 49 years, surrounded by his family. Dearly loved son of Gerry and Joyce Lafontaine. Dear brother of Ted Lafontaine, Karin Dreany (Brian) and Nicole Hummel (Matt). Cherished uncle of Alexandra Lafontaine, Liam and Colin Dreany and Jack and Will Hummel. Dan will be sadly missed by his best friends; John Doyle and Kelly Lloyd, his extended family and friends. He spent many years in the construction industry, before settling in with Gomoll’s Timber Mart. He was happiest in the outdoors, fishing, hunting, gardening and photographing nature. Family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (Callander) on Thursday April 21, 2016 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alphonsus Church on Friday at 11 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Callander Food bank or St. Alphonsus Building Fund would be gratefully appreciated by his family.
