It is with sadness that the family of George Duquette announces his passing on August 30 in his home at the age of 95. Predeceased by his parents Ellen and Moise, his wife Joan and 5 brothers, Cecil, Elmer, Bert, Frederick, and Art. George will be missed and lovingly remembered by his 6 children Patricia (Patti), George (Duke), Mary Beth, Frederick, Kimberly and Christina (Dina), in laws Don, Rodney, Natasha and Rob, as well as his 8 grandchildren James, Jonathan, Sarah, Sally, John, Justin, Emily and Nicole, and great grandchildren William, Emma, Oliver, Rosalie, Brody, Madison and Indy. George served in the RCAF as a bombardier in England and North Africa during World War II, graduated from Carleton BA '52 and became a meteorologist as a civilian working for the Department of National Defense for several decades. He worked at SAGE in North Bay, Ont. as well as PEI, NS and NB. He was a wise and thoughtful man who loved gardening (geraniums and begonias thrived in his care), reading, crosswords and cooking. A visitation will be held on Friday September 13, 2019 from 6-9 pm at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay). A funeral service in memory of George will be held on Saturday September 14 at 11am at the McGuinty Funeral Home, 591 Cassells St. North Bay.
