Onley, George Edward (1944-2014)

Passed away peacefully at  the Toronto General Hospital on December 20, 2014. Cherished husband of Virginia (nee Mallette). George loved his extended family; Sherri Larondeau (Mike), Matthew and Jim, Stacey Shea (Bryan) and Lauren. He is survived by his brother-in-laws Richard Scott and John Mallette (Helen). Predeceased by his parents; Ivy and Edward Onley and his sister Pamela Noonan. George taught at various secondary schools in North Bay and area for over 30 years. He was an avid reader, talented model ship builder and drummer. Most of his Canadian Warship models have been donated to and are on display in Museums across Canada. A proud member of the Canadian Naval Diving Association, local Navy Association, Callander Legion Pipes and Drum band and Branch 445. Family will be receiving friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel (87 Lansdowne St. Callander) on Friday December 26, 2014  from 1-4 pm. Funeral service will be held in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel (Callander) on Saturday December 27, 2014 at 11am. Memorial Donations may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)  or the Callander Library Building Fund in memory of George. Thanks to Garth Goodhew for all the coffee breaks and neighbours Herman Averhoff, Marcel Levesque and Rob Bain for your friendship and help over the years.
