Henri Désilets
The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Henri Désilets at Cassellholme on December 7, 2016, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Rita Désilets (nee Demers). Dear father of Jean-Claude (Ghyslaine). Cherished Grandfather of Marie-José, Nichola and Normand Désilets, all of Quebec City. He is survived by his brother Maurice (Marilyn) and Rachel Désilets (Sisters of the assumption) both of North Bay. He is predeceased by his parents Jean-Baptiste and Rose Désilets (nee Dionne), also by his 6 brothers; Lionel, Roméo, Phil, Arthur, Georges, and Gérard and by his 7 sisters, Amanda, Lucille, Marguerite, Laetitia, Cécile, Lorenda, and Theresa. He will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Henri joined the navy during WW2 and was stationed in the Naval Yards in Quebec City. At the end of the war, he remained in Quebec where he met and married Rita Demers. He worked for the CPR as a yard master. Later, he returned to North Bay from Quebec City and found employment at Canadore College. He loved to fish on Lake Nipissing and was always ready to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a long-time resident of McKay home (since 1988). A special thank you goes to nursing units A3 and C3 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, staff at Cassellholme Maple Wing- where he resided since this past November, DVA and their response to all of his needs, and the staff of preferred care and personal support services for their care for over two years. A funeral mass will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Church in spring 2017. Donations to St. Vincent de Paul church renovation fund would be greatly appreciated by the family.
