KNIGHT, Kenneth Arnold

Surrounded by his loving family, Kenneth passed away peacefully at home on Sunday May 8, 2016 at the age of 59 years. Loving and devoted husband to Linda (nee Gribbons), beloved father to Jennifer (Greg Blackned), and Kristina Knight (Adrien Beaulne). Cherished “Pop-op” to Oliver and Ivory. Kenneth was predeceased by his father Donald Knight (April 2016) and his mother Ruth (nee Reilly). Survived by his sisters Kathy Soule (John Shanks) and Elaine Pepin, his brother Tim Knight (Patricia), and his former brothers-in-law and good friends Dan Pepin and George Soule (Lydia). Kenneth will be lovingly remembered by his mother-in-law Marie Gribbons (Ken-deceased), his brothers-in-law Ronnie, Peter, Robert, his sisters-in-law Beverly, Suzie, Nancy and Karen (Randy Morin), and his many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Kenneth retired from the Canadian Pacific Railroad after 35 years of service as a locomotive engineer. He loved his retirement as it allowed him to truly enjoy the things that mattered most to him. His devotion to his family was always first and foremost. Kenneth truly loved the outdoors; enjoying fishing, hunting, jogging, walking, gardening and barbequing.  He was always known to be socializing and helping out his neighbours and friends especially over a few beverages. His family will receive visitors and friends at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Wednesday May 11, 2016 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Pro Cathedral of the Assumption on Thursday May 12, 2016 at 10am.  Donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
