To my Snow Fairy (and to your entire family)
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your mom. Losing a parent is tough and is a loss you'll feel deeply for a long time to come. But if there are any words in existence that could help bring you comfort -- it is that I know your mom raised you guys well. You have a heart and a soul for others that makes you incredibly rare and unique. You hardly knew me when you had observed that my husband was gone and you realised he was deployed overseas... you were my sneaky snow fairy, shovelling for those months when I was unable to. That meant the world to me during some of my hardest moments and I never pass up an opportunity to share my Snow Fairy story to others when I can. We are not born with the innate ability to be kind, compassionate, observant and helpless. We are taught those skills by responsible, caring, compassionate human beings -- our mothers and our fathers. Your mom must have been a remarkable woman and I hope that you and your siblings are comforted and supported at this time. Take care Norm!
