Selahattin Artan

Devoted Husband, Father and Grandpa.

Selahattin Artan passed away on March 21, 2015 at the age of 85 with his family by his side at the North Bay Regional Hospital.

Born in 1930 in Turkey, he is predeceased by his brother Nurettin.  Selahattin is survived by his beloved wife Kupra, sister in law Hafize, children Senol, Hatice, Erol, Zeliha, Nejla and four granddaughters Kitean Giesler, Zaffia Laplante, Zeyana Laplante and Anarose Kozlowski and son in law Stephen Kozlowski. 

Selahattin immigrated to North Bay in 1968 and established his contracting business known as Artan Contracting. He was an honorable businessman in the community, and was highly regarded and well respected for his skills and workmanship as a stonemason and general contractor. He loved Canada and was ever so thankful for all the opportunities and blessings he was given. He was proud to call North Bay his home.

Selahattin lived for his family. He loved his wife, family and was very proud of his granddaughters. He had a passion for life and loved to garden in his pastime.  He was a generous and kind man who never met a stranger. He smiled often and always had a friendly word for everyone.
