It is with great sadness the family announces the death of William on Saturday August 12, 2017 at Cassellholme at the age of 74. Survived by his beloved wife Rita Scherba (nee Doucette). Loving father to Deborah Scherba, Tonya Scherba, Naomi-Jean Scherba, Ivorirose Scherba, and his step son Rob Gingras. Bill was predeceased by his parents George and Jean Scherba, and was raised by his grandparents Thomas and Mary-Jane Lamarche. He was the grandson of William and Olga Scherba. Bill will be remembered for his witty sense of humour, and he always enjoyed a “friendly” discussion about politics. He was an avid salesman and entrepreneur in several ventures over the years. In his younger days he played for the North Bay Tiger-Cats football team. He also enjoyed a game of curling, golf and pool. The family would like to express their heartfelt thankyou to all the friends who visited Bill in the hospital and at Cassellholme. A special thankyou to all the caring staff members, who gave support to him and our family during his lengthy illness. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
