James "Jim" Seguin Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Jim Seguin on May 25, 2021.  Jim is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ann (Whitaker) and cherished children and grandchild; Daniel (wife Susan and daughter Danielle) and Jennifer (husband Brent Conley). Jim was an inspiration to all - with his joy, positivity and optimism, his deep wisdom, strong intellect, and generosity of Spirit.  He was the consummate gentleman who loved his family deeply. Jim lived his Faith in action with a strong moral compass and served as a role model to his family, friends, colleagues, and community in living an ethical and upstanding life of Service.

Born in Montreal, Jim had a stellar 50+ year career in the emerging field of “high tech”. Moving to Toronto in 1975, he was at the ground level of emerging technologies such as the first mobile phone and first digital marketplace and led teams that implemented ground-breaking technical innovations.  Moving to North Bay in 1990, Jim’s entrepreneurial spirit was evidenced in working with various corporations, organizations, and individuals to share the knowledge, skills and experience he gained as a values-based and successful leader.  Jim’s deep understanding of the theory and practice of Leadership was shared with countless people to improve their professional and personal lives.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, Damase and Geraldine Seguin of Montreal and brother Bill of Bramalea.  He is survived by his sister Ruth Lemon of Montreal and by his many nieces and nephews whom he adored and who shared his “joie de vivre” and love of singing and performing “party pieces” in the Irish tradition. His signature songs in the “Seguin family playlist” will live on in our hearts and memories forever.

A private family Funeral Mass will be celebrated.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the North Bay Humane Society - Jim deeply loved his “fur children.” Sincere gratitude for exceptional care at the North Bay Regional Health Centre, particularly to the B3 and C3 Care Teams, and to Monsignor Dave Tramontini for his support of our family’s Faith Journey.  May Jim Rest In Peace with our Lord and Saviour.
