Percy "Dusty" Miller Obituary

The family announces with great sorrow the passing of Percy, after a battle with cancer, at his place of residence in North Bay on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Percy was the beloved husband of Donna Miller (nee Murphy) for 63 years.  Percy was the loving father to the late Dean Miller, the late Randy Miller, Debbie Miller, Cheryl St. Martin, Cindy Miller and Tammy Lamb (Ray). Cherished grandfather to Nolan St. Martin (Diane), Jay St. Martin (Victoria), Joel St. Martin, Scott Burnie and Darren Miller, and great grandfather to Alexis, Emma, Rowyn, Hailee and Leo. Percy will be fondly remembered by his in-laws Marlene Murphy, Ron Murphy (Jeanette), Peggy Miller and Chester Mullen (sister Norma). Percy is predeceased by his Parents Percy Lorne Miller and Ruby Miller (nee Eden) and his aunt Beatrice who raised him until he was 16 years old.  Percy is also predeceased by his siblings Godfrey, Desmond, Norma, Merton, Wendell and Stanton Miller. Percy was quite involved with AA (41 years sober) and enjoyed helping people in the organization.  Also, Percy was quite involved with the Knights of Columbus both at the 3rd degree and 4th degree level.  In his younger years he was involved in coaching hockey for his sons’ team and was also a Boy Scouts Leader.  Percy was retired from the Canadian Armed Forces after a 25-year career where he lived all over Canada and Germany. As per Percy’s wishes cremation has taken place at Whispering Pines Funeral Home. The family of Percy will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Thursday November 19, 2020 from 6pm to 8pm. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the St. Peter's Church Building Fund would be gratefully acknowledged by his family.
