Brodie Rafuse Obituary

Rafuse, Brodie

Brodie died suddenly but peacefully on Saturday August 24, 2019 in his 37th year. Brodie was born in Smooth Rock Falls in 1982. He then moved to North Bay in 1986 where he spent his formative years finishing high school at Widdifield Secondary School. After graduating, he attended Durham College and the Canadore College. Brodie had an eclectic work background including Statistics Canada, Telespectrum and Martinrea. He’ll be remembered for his infectious laugh, quick wit and his compassionate spirit and love of his family. His sense of humour kept all who knew him laughing. His knowledge of “The Simpsons”, Family Guy and Game of Thrones could not be rivalled. Brodie will also be remembered for his love of movies and all things movie related. He’d make a terrific movie critic. As a young boy growing up, Brodie took up magic and would perform for various birthday parties and fundraisers (children of Chernobyl). He excelled in curling, sailing and martial arts. Brodie is the beloved son of Kate & Craig Anderson. He will be sadly missed by his rescue dog Arya, younger brother Steve Rafuse (Krista), stepbrothers Chris Anderson (Krystle), Kyle Anderson, niece Teryn and his father Jim Rafuse. His absence will be felt by cousins Jesse, Amy, Rebekah and Veronica. Loved nephew of Maura & Bill Archer, Terence & Lucy Butler, Vic & Peggy Rafuse, Beth & Pat Nowak, David Rafuse, Ken & Marla Rafuse, Ben & Diane Rafuse and will be forever remembered by many cousins. He was predeceased by his grandparents; Elizabeth Butler of North Bay, David Butler of Oshawa and Ellen & Vance Rafuse of Night Hawk Centre. Family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Thursday August 29, 2019 from 6-9 pm. A Celebration of Life will be celebrated in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel on Friday August 30, 2019 at 11am. Donations to the Sashbear Foundation or the North Bay Humane Society would be gratefully appreciated by his family. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
