Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of his family on November 1, 2018 at the age of 86 years. Devoted husband of Carmen (née Brisson) and loved father of  Daniel (Mado), Gaston (Lise), René (Colleen), Carole Boissonneault (Ray), Michel (Louise), Alain (Mel) and Jérome (Chantal). Pépère will be lovingly remembered by  his grandchildren; Veronica, Jeffrey, Marc, Dominique, Céline, Eric, Nikita, Brittany, Chantal, Louie, Vincent, Melissa and 13 great-grandchildren. Denis will be sadly missed by his 8 surviving siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Predeceased by his parents; Alphonse and Rose Anna (nee Provost) and several brothers and sisters. Denis worked at the Mattawa General Hospital in maintenance for 33 years.  He was also  a 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus. Family and friends may pay their respects at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Sunday November 4, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Paroisse St-Vincent-de-Paul on Monday November 5, 2018 at 10 am. Interment at Ste-Anne Cemetery, Mattawa, ON. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association or the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be gratefully appreciated by his family. The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to the Doctors and Nurses at the North Bay Regional Health Centre and to Care Partners, especially Penny and Bonita for their care and compassion given to our family.
