After a courageous battle with cancer, it is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Gilles Audet at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, ON on June 7, 2019. Predeceased by his parents Alexandre and Fabiola Audette (nee St. Georges) and brother Armand Audette (July 21, 2003). Devoted partner to Kelly Daehn. Loving father of Karry-Ann Benard & Shawna-Lynn Fisher (Clint). He will be sadly missed by his 5 grandchildren, Tyler (Diana), Kyra-Lynn (Brayden) and Ryan Audet, Cohen and Charlotte Fisher. He was fortunate to have the love and friendship of Kelly’s sons Nicholas, Anthony, and Christopher who will greatly miss him. Dear brother of Armand (Suzanne), Georgette Martel (Jean-Paul), Carmen Trudel (Jacques), Gabrielle Barnden (Ben), Lillian Gagné (Raymond), Mariette Leppert (Ernie), Simone Lafleur (Percy), Rachel Schultz, Jean-Claude (Connie), Rolland, Suzanne Bouffard (Michel), and Nicole Martel (Michel). He will fondly be remembered by his many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, extended family and friends. Gilles was a jokester - always had a smile on his face and loved making people laugh. You could often find him with a hammer in his hand, at camp or on the golf course. Gilles family would like to thank Dr. Lopez and Dr. Cano in the oncology department at Health Sciences North for the care and support he provided throughout his battle and also Dr. Knight for the warm care during his stay at Health Sciences North. Family will receive visitors on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at McGuinty Funeral Home- Sturgeon Falls (123 Railway St. Sturgeon Falls). He will be laid to rest with his parents and brother at Saint Mary’s Cemetery. Donations to West Nipissing General Hospital - Cancer Clinic, would be gratefully appreciated by his family.
