McCombie, Helen Frances (nee Harris)

Helen McCombie (nee Harris) passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Wednesday December 6, 2017 in her 90th year.  Predeceased by her beloved husband Stewart. Helen was the loving mother of Trisha Pecore and Robert McCombie (Heather) and loving grandmother of Rory and Zach (Pecore) and Maxwell and Katie (McCombie). Predeceased by her parents John and Edith (Kearns) and siblings Jim, Joan (Lankester), Jackie, Mary. Survived by siblings Gordon (Carole), Barb and Pat.  Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews particularly Linda Lankester (Steve Keech) and Bryan Lankester(Colleen).  Helen moved  to North Bay in 1973 with the family which quickly became home.  Helen was an active volunteer, helping in schools including running electives at schools throughout the region.  Active in Horticultural society in North Bay and the region. Award winning flower arranger and judge. Volunteer with the Northern Ontario Ski Division office and particularly known as the start referee at local races. Visitation will be held at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday December 15th from 4pm to 7pm.  A celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
