It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Joan Rayner, surrounded by her family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on October 16, 2019 at the age of 80 years. Predeceased by her husband Harold Rayner. Loving mother of Darlene Leonard (Francois), Murielle Mathieu (Gaston), Armand Leonard (Cheryl), James Leonard and Jeffrey Leonard (Lisa). Cherished grandma of 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Marjorie Storie, Gail Miller and Shirley Clarke. Predeceased by her son Darrell Leonard and her parents Wilfred and Bernadette Hawley (nee Lamarche) and her siblings; Joyce McGregor, Patsy Smith, Wilfred Hawley Jr. and Wayne Hawley. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Nurses and Staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre and the VON nurses and community workers at the LIHN for their care and compassion shown to our family. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated by her family.
