We are so sorry for your loss and sad that we are not able to be with you today .... we are sending our hugs, love, and prayers to each of you. Marlene was an incredible Mom & Nana who raised incredible Mom's and women, and a wonderful son. She leaves a legacy of kindness, generosity, strength, and love of family to all of us; not only her own family, but even those of us who consider ourselves her 'honorary' children & families.
She welcomed all of us ‘strays’. I will always remember the laughter in her home and especially how it helped me survive times of adversity and unbearable loss of my own. For this, I will always be grateful.
She was gentle, wise & compassionate and will be missed by everyone whose lives she has touched.
I will also remember her for her love of knowledge, books, movies, cooking/baking (of course that goes without saying :-)), puzzles, & cats. She truly "lived every moment, laughed every day, and loved beyond words"...something we must all remind ourselves to do every day in her memory.
Although she has taken a little piece of each of your hearts along with her to heaven, she leaves behind so much more of herself in each of you, and in every one of us who knew and loved her.

We were so happy to have Marlene participate in the North Bay Scrabble Club and I am sure nshe will be very much missed by all of us. I found her to be a very sweet, gentle soul and good sport. This is a sad day and condolences are offered to all of her family and friends.
