Peacefully passed away at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on January 24, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by his wife Elsa (nee Ceccanese). Beloved father of Giuseppe “Joey” (Mary), Angelo (Sue) and Roberto (Shelley). Cherished Nonno of Nicholas, Vittoria, Grace, Jordi, Jansen, Caitlin and Haley. Dear brother of Elia Ortepi (Gina) of Prossedi Latina, Italy. Nello was predeceased by his parents Peter Ortepi and Angela (nee Bonomo) of Prossedi Latina, Italy, and his brother Luigi Ortepi (Palmira-surviving) of North York, Ontario and his sister Eside Nardoni of Prossedi Latina, Italy. Nello was born in 1929 in Prossedi Latina, Italy and in 1956 immigrated to Canada where he raised his family and worked for the ONR for 33 years. Nello will be sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Family will receive visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday January 26, 2018 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church on Saturday January 27, 2018 at 11 am. In Lieu of flowers donations to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice, or the North Bay Regional Health Centre are suggested and would be greatly appreciated by his family. The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Nurses and Staff of B3 at the NBRHC, and to Dr. Lam and the PSW workers for their care and compassion.
