Amelia Lucenti Obituary

Lucenti, Amelia (nee Valenti)

Peacefully passed away on March 20, 2019 at Eastholme Home for the Aged. Predeceased by her husband Carlo Lucenti. Loving mother of Carole Lucenti-Pucci, Bob Lucenti (Mary) and Rita (Lucenti) Ott (Ernst-predeceased).  Cherished grandma of Carlo, Anthony, Krista, David, Mark and great grandma of Ella, Luca, Anna, Halle, Samuel, Emma, Shayan and Jack. Dear sister of Rita Longarini (Joe-predeceased). She will be missed by her nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and Muriel Lucenti. Predeceased by her parents Francesco and Giulia Valenti and by her siblings; Jenny Tubaro (John), Edward J Valenti ‘Lou’ (Cecile), Fred Valenti (Jackie-surviving), Richard Valenti (Nancy-surviving), Ernest Valenti (Shirley- surviving) and Louis Valenti (Shirley-surviving). Amelia attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy. Throughout her life she was devoted to her immediate family as well as her five brothers and two sisters. She was proud to be a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Amelia was always stylish and took pride in her appearance.  She defied the odds and looked much younger than her years. As past president and member of the Ladies Auxillary at the Davedi Club, Amelia participated in many activities. She enjoyed playing cards and bingo, especially winning. For many years Amelia bowled and won many trophies. Knitting, crocheting and needle point were some of her many talents. When opportunities arose Amelia loved to travel and some of her favourite places were Florida and Italy. We were all blessed  to have Amelia in our lives for more years than we can disclose. Her family has been sworn to secrecy.  As per her wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption on Monday March 25, 2019 at 10 am. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Luncheon and celebration of her life will take place immediately following mass at the Davedi Club. All her family and friends are invited to attend to share stories of this wonderful lady and celebrate a life truly well lived. In lieu of flowers, donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre, Nipissing Serenity Hospice or a charity of your choice.  The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to Dr. Graham, Marina Point and Eastholme for their care and compassion shown to Amelia and our family.
