With great sadness and heavy hearts, we would like to announce the passing of our husband, father, father-in-law and brother Armand on Thursday, April 15, 2021. Armand is survived by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mary (nee Cassidy) and his beloved daughter Lynn Perrier (Klaus Wucher). He is predeceased by his parents Thomas and Maria (nee Mayer) Perrier, brothers Anicet, Thomas “Joe”, Renay, Patrick, Alcide and sisters Doreen Desjardins, Lena Lafreniere and Marguerite Rivett. He is survived by his beloved sister Edna Chenier (late Marcel), and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Armand worked for many years at Heath & Sherwood Machine Shop Ltd. as a machinist. He was born in Chaput Hughes, Ontario and moved to Kirkland Lake to marry the love of his life in 1951 and lived there until 1988 at which time he retired and moved with his wife to “a little piece of heaven” property in the Trout Creek, ON area where he built a beautiful home where they would spend the next 30 years. They then moved to the Callander, ON area to be with family and were surrounded by many amazing neighbours.
During his retirement he became a very accomplished relief wood carver and through his kindness and love many people will have a little treasure of his much loved work to remember him by. He was our strength and guiding light; he is missed more than words can ever express. We will never be the same without him. He will live on in our hearts and will forever be our hero.
We would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the North Bay Regional Health Centre for their outstanding care and compassion. Cremation has taken place and because of Covid restrictions a small service, for immediate family, has been arranged.
Donations in memory of Armand may be made to the North Bay Regional Health Centre and would be gratefully acknowledged by his family. Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
