 The close and loving family of Daniel Edward Thomas are saddened to announce the sudden passing of a such remarkable man.  He was an outstanding and accomplished man that has touched the hearts and souls of so many.  His knowledge and expertise went above and beyond that neither one of us could ever have fathomed.

He passed suddenly at North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday October 6th at the age of 72. He was the loving husband to Anne (nee Bosch).  Beloved father to Daniel “D.J.” Thomas (Tammy Lavoie) and Vicki Thomas (Robbie Kitchen).  Cherished grandfather to Hillary, Hannah, Patrick, Nathan, Matthew, Tanner, Olivia, Kaitlyn and Amy.  Daniel is predeceased by his father Norman Thomas and survived by his mother Helen (nee Musgrove) Uttley, and his sister Maureen Desjardins.  He was a son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to so many.  There is no possible way to pay our respects to such an extraordinary man.  Not one day, or one moment will go by where we will not feel your love and presence amongst us.  We will forever miss those awkward yet funny hugs that you always gave, the amazing quotes and “Grampaisms” and the love and admiration that you had for us all.

 Your legacy for the love of the outdoors, unique humour, passion for politics, articulate penmanship and your love of family will continue on and live through all of us.  He left a permanent impression to all those that had the honour of meeting him, befriending him, loving him and being lucky enough to call him family.

Cheers to Homer, Dapper Dan, Danny, Dad, and or Grandpa.  Now chill your glass and raise it high!

 In keeping with Daniel’s wishes cremation will occur at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium with a private celebration of Daniels life planned at a future date.  Donations are suggested to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and would be greatly acknowledged by the family.
