Evelyn Mary Esther (Gleason) Cousins

Evelyn Mary Esther Cousins (née Gleason), age 73 died on Saturday December 17, 2022. surrounded by loved ones, she passed peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. 

Born on August 24, 1949, in Matheson, ON to Albert Gleason and Therese (née Boisvert) Gleason. 

On August 1, 1970, Evelyn married the love of her life, Rodney Cousins. They were devoted to one another until Rodney’s passing in 2013. 

Survived by her daughters Angie (Kevin) Stackhouse of Ottawa and Sonya Brown (Denis) of North Bay.  

She devoted her life to being a military wife and raising her daughters, always putting her family first. Evelyn loved and cherished her six grandsons, Owen, Matthew, Ethan, Trevor, Nick and Jeffrey. 

Evelyn was the middle of three children (Patricia Gendreau and Raymond Gleason). She was loved by many aunts, uncles and cousins. 

Evelyn was known for her love of cooking, knitting, crocheting and gardening.  Nobody ever went hungry in her home. She was also devoted to her many dogs over the years. She will always be remembered for her sharp wit, sense of humour and bright smile. 

We are grateful for the wonderful care she received by the compassionate staff on C-3 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. 

The family will receive visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Wednesday December 21, 2022, between the hours of 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm. A Celebration of Evelyn’s Life will be conducted on Thursday December 22, 2022, at 11am in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow.
