EMOND, Gerald Cyril “Gerry”

Gerald passed away peacefully with his family at his side, on May 2, 2022, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 100 years. Beloved husband to Jacqueline (nee Petrolia) Emond for 72 years. Loving father to Diane McPeake- deceased (Mike -surviving) of Alliston, Brian Emond (Anne) of North Bay, and Gary Emond (Janet) of Courtice. Cherished grandfather to Ryan, Sean, Jamie, Jason, Amber, Amy and Brandon and great grandfather of 12. Gerry will be remembered for his many years of operating service stations including the Shell on Algonquin Avenue, the BP on McIntyre Street, and the Texico/Regent on Cassells Street. He will be missed by his many Florida friends of 35 winters. Gerry was blessed with great health, enjoying riding his bicycle until the age of 95 and switching to a stationary bike daily till over 100. His claim to longevity was to marry an Italian girl. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Rotondo and the nurses and staff of C3 at the NBRHC, as well as Veterans Affairs for their assistance over the years. The family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Sunday May 8, 2022, between the hours of 6pm and 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption on Monday May 9, 2022, at 10am. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum.
