Harold (Lefty) passed away peacefully on October 25, 2021, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by his beloved wife Anna Bell (nee Brady). Loving father to Christopher Madsen (Bonita), John Madsen (Julie), Paul Madsen (Julie-predeceased), and Karen Seton (Andrew). Cherished grandfather to 9 grandchildren. We are proud that our father, born in St Stephen, NB on a farm with no electricity in the Depression to a recent widow, went on to a career with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Initially serving as navigator for Lancasters, a Russian language course took Harold and family to various parts of the world such as Greenwood (where he met his wife), Louisiana, Washington, Ottawa, Moscow twice, Cuba (during the Cuban missile crisis), Kingston, and Canberra as an attaché. He was most proud of meeting the first person in space and their great talks, Levsha and Yuri. We will miss all his stories. Special thanks to Preferred Care for making his last years comfortable. In keeping with Harold’s wishes cremation will occur at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium, with no public services. Online condolences may be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
