Helen Lecour Obituary

Lecour, Helen G. (February 28, 1939 – February 13, 2019)

Helen Lecour, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to so many, passed away peacefully with family by her side. Predeceased by her devoted husband Gary Lecour and her parents, Albert and Claire Bale, Helen will be sadly missed by her sons David (Shannon) and Chris (Nada).

She was born in Temiscaming, PQ and enjoyed many special memories with her sister Dorothy and brothers Ed, Allen, Gerry and Larry. Helen made her way to North Bay in her late teens and found employment at the North Bay Nugget. She eventually spent most of her career as a secretary with the Nipissing District Roman Catholic Separate School Board. She enjoyed working at the Board office as well as Scollard Hall HS and Corpus Christi elementary school. Helen was usually the first face that visitors saw when they entered the building and she could always be counted on to greet them with a warm smile. She was admired and respected by students, parents, support staff, teachers and administration alike. Helen was especially devoted to her grandchildren Kiersten, Mariah, Holly, Ben and April and was fortunate to spend many hours with them as they grew up, providing each of them with fond memories of their grandmother. They will miss her dearly. In retirement Helen and Gary enjoyed many trips to Florida where they were often accompanied by their children and grandchildren.

Our family would like to thank the staff at Marina Point in North Bay and Spencer House in Orillia for their dedication and care towards Helen in her later years.

A funeral mass for Helen will take place at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church on Saturday May 11, 2019 at 11:00 am.
