James "Jim" Joseph Sherry

James “Jim” Joseph Sherry, 85, of North Bay, passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side on May 20, 2023, following a brief battle with cancer. Jim managed his illness the same way he managed his life, with strength and grace. His sister Karen was a wonderful support for him emotionally and spiritually throughout his illness.

Jim was proud to be a father for his three children, Kim (Marc), JoAnne, and James (Jennifer) and was an influential role model in their lives. Jim had 5 grandchildren, Dan (Jaclyn), Vie (Scott), Sabrina, Alyssa, and Jay (Chanelle) and 3 great grandchildren, Brielle, Céline and Ryann. He built many loving and long-term friendships during his career with KPMG, his golf days at the North Bay Golf and Country Club and his winters in Florida.

Jim was predeceased by his wife Louise, and his brother Peter.  Jim and Louise were an inseparable pair and are once again reunited.  Thank you so much to Dr. H Moore, Dr. B Steele, the wonderful staff and volunteers at Nipissing Serenity Hospice, and the community healthcare partners for helping us through this difficult journey.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 29th, 2023, from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the McGuinty Funeral Home (591 Cassells St, North Bay, ON P1B3Z8). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, May 30th, 2023, at 10:00 AM at the Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption (480 McIntyre St W, North Bay, ON P1B2Z4). In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Nipissing Serenity Hospice.
