John Callaghan - Thomas

Passed away Suddenly on Thursday April 21 at North Bay Regional Health Centre. John was the Beloved spouse of Susan Boyland who stayed by his side as he went on ahead. He was 69. John was also known to his friends as Cally, JCT and The Loony Scot.

Born in Hamilton, Scotland, he lived in Scotland and Wales and worked as a service engineer before coming to Canada. John is survived by siblings Margaret Theresa and Angie and by his four children, Jenny, Christopher, Kimberly, and Jonathan, and three beautiful granddaughters.

John was a lively companion, a poet, fabulous cook and good friend with a sharp wit, and mystified Canadian listeners with strange Scottish language and jokes. He soaked up information like a sponge. Scotland, the pipes, and Greece spoke to his soul. He will be missed every day.

At John's wishes, cremation has taken place at Whispering Pines Funeral Home's Crematorium. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
