Annett, Kathleen (nee Cunningham)

It is with great sadness, we announce the peaceful passing of Kathleen (Cunningham) Annett, on April 29th 2020 at the age of 88 years. Predeceased by her loving husband Nelson Annett and Kays parents; James Cunningham and Annie (McHugh).

Loving mother of James (LeeAnne), Nelson, Peter (Eva), Michael (Louise). Beloved grandmother to Chantelle (Andre), Jimmy (Sandra), Nelson Jr., Shane, Noreen, Madeleine (Arron), Sophie, Greg (Raelee), Steven, and Rose. Great grandmother “G.G.” to Rhys, Anna, Saint, Chloe, Freya, Quinten and Enki.  She is survived by her brother, Leo Cunningham (Lucy) and many nieces and nephews. 

Kay retired from St Joseph Hospital Treatment Centre as a caring and compassionate Care Attendant for many years. After her retirement, Kay had spent endless hours volunteering within the community. Kay was a faithful lady, she attended Holy Name Church every Saturday and sat in the same pew for many years.  Everyone knew where Kays seat was.  She belonged to the Catholic Women’s League for over 30 years and took pride in delivering her baked goods to so many functions.

A special thank you to the amazing care givers, Jocelyn, Barb, Lillian, Kelsey, Morgan, and CarePartners, Paramed that provided compassion, love, friendship and support in Kay’s home. A special note to mom’s neighbours for their companionship and kindness over the past years.

We would like to acknowledge the caring and wonderful staff at Cassellholme, especially Jilly, Christine, Kathryn and Malica, for being so accommodating to our family with phone calls and making Kay feel as comfortable as she possibly could.

As per Kays wishes, immediate cremation will take place with no service to follow. A private family service and a Mass will be held at Holy Name Church at later date.  Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
