Leslie (Pitcher) Gauthier

October 25, 1961 ~ January 6, 2024 (age 62) 62 Years Old

Leslie Gauthier Obituary

Our loving mother, Leslie Gauthier, passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the age of 62 years old. Leslie fought hard to stay with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed, and we know that she misses us immensely.

Those who were fortunate to have known Leslie knows that she has a deep love and pride for her family, her children (her APES), and her grandchildren. Leslie is the beloved wife of Ron Gauthier, and the loving mother to Erika Petri (Dan), Sarah Gauthier, Amanda Pearce (David), and Patrick Petri. She is the cherished grandmother to Jackson, Forrest, Lyrik, Oaklyn, Anna, and Miles. To them, she is Meemaw and Gramma G, her favourite names for herself. Leslie is predeceased by her brother Stephen Pearson, her mother Jacqueline Pitcher, and her father, John Pitcher.

Leslie is from Pembroke, Ontario but made a life and raised her family in North Bay, despite not liking being cold or having to endure winter. Leslie loves the sun, summer, and any beach and warm lake. She makes friends wherever she goes with her outgoing and friendly nature, always being up for any adventure especially if it was a road trip, or involved anything delicious to eat.

Anyone who crossed paths with Leslie knows how much she loves her children and grandchildren. She has always shared their accomplishments, life events, and any detail she could about their lives. She worked hard to help their childhood be magical, and instilled traditions that we will carry on for her to pass along to our own children. We are grateful that she is our Mom.

Leslie and Ron shared many adventures over their 31-year journey together. One of their favourite things to do was to road trip to Toronto where Ron would show her where he grew up. Leslie loved to explore and share those memories she made with her partner in crime. Thanks to Ron, Leslie was able to spend a few more years here with us as she worked her hardest to get better.

It is hard to speak about our Mom and wife in the past tense, but we know that her vivacious spirit, excellent sense of humour (she loved a good “groaner joke”!), and her love for those she held dear will carry on through the love she gave so freely. Thank you to all of those who were friends to our Mom and shared in her life along the way. She appreciated all of those moments and would be very sad to know she’s missing out on the celebration ahead.

The family will be receiving visitors at the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Thursday, January 11, 2024, between the hours of 11:00am to 1:00pm. A celebration of life will follow at 1:00pm in the McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) chapel. A live stream of the funeral service at 1:00pm will be available at the following link (Leslie's Funeral Service). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by her family.
