Marcel Sivret

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Marcel Sivret, Wednesday, September 20th, 2023, in Calvin township. Marcel was born February 23rd, 1939, predeceased by his parents Stanley and Marie Beth Sivret. He resided in Calvin Township where he lived with his wife, Norma (Curran) of 58 years and raised his children; Paul, Robin Michaud (Jay) and Corey (Barbara). He will be missed by his grandchildren Todd Sivret (Krysta Warkentin), Jessica Dowling (Tim), Natasha O’Brien (Daniel), Garet Michaud (Kelsey Belanger), Jaiden Michaud (Donald Tarr), Samantha Reynolds and Reese Sivret. Great-grandchildren Brodie, Jesse, Myles, Bella, Charlotte and Desmond. Marcel is predeceased by his siblings Thérèse, Fern, Camille, Arsene, Pierette, and Lucien. Marcel will be missed by his brothers and sisters-in-law Adrianne Sivret (Lucien), Ricky Curran (Sharron), Amy Fleury (Pierre) and many nieces and nephews. Marcel loved anything with a motor, he lived to go fast and play hard explaining his nickname “the flying Frenchman”. He was a family man, he loved to joke and tease, we will all miss his sense of humour. Marcel had many friends who he would always make himself available for and would never hesitate to give them anything and everything they needed. 

The family would like to thank all the community of Calvin who helped in the search, the Calvin fire department, first responders, police services and Dr. John Seguin for your professional and respectful manner in a very difficult situation. We appreciate you all. 

In keeping with Marcels wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at the Calvin cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at 1770 Peddlers Drive on October 21st, 2023.
