Marguerite Ranger Obituary

Peacefully passed away at her home on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the age of 93 years.  Marguerite was the beloved wife of the late Jerry Ranger and the loving mother to Aline (Lynn) Bennett (Tom), Sue Cunningham (Robert), Jerry Ranger (Serge), Victor (deceased) and Diane (deceased). She was the cherished grandmother to Ross Bennett (Kathy), Dale McKenny (Peter), Jessica Ranger as well as 5 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was the loving sister to Gerald Belecque (Paulette deceased), Dollard Belecque (Louise), Vivianne Lebel (Larry deceased), late Victor Belecque, late Leo Belecque and late Rita Brown (Mel deceased). She is also predeceased by her parents Thomas Belecque and Marie Louise Belecque (nee Ethier). Marguerite in her early years enjoyed camping and fishing at Diver/ McConnell Lakes area and she continued to keep up with the latest fishing news, camping and blueberry picking in the area with her grandson Ross.   Her fondest memories were growing up on the farm in Astorville with her siblings.  She also enjoyed hunting and ski-dooing at the Ranger Camp. Her passion in life certainly was the many hours spent going to Bingo, Casino and playing cards with friends and family.   She made sure she never missed a church picnic either in her home town of Astorville and Bonfield. Marguerite was loved by all who knew her.  Her amazing smile and her wonderful sense of humor made her a special mom and Grams. As per Marguerite’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held with interment in the spring. If desired, donations to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
