Paul Trenker Obituary

TRENKER, Paul - Paul Trenker died June 6, 2019 at Cassellholme North Bay. He was predeceased by his wife Irene (Ringer), his parents Maria and Paul, his sister Jean, and his brothers Joe, Tony and Mike. He is survived by sisters Mary, Kay, and Doreen, his children Paul (Susan), Richard (Catherine), David, Mary Anne (Gregg), and his grandchildren Emily (Jay), Robert, Michael, Grace, Rose and William. Paul was born in 1921 in Ritzing, a rural Austrian village. That was long ago, a different world from today. When his mother left Ritzing with Paul and his brothers in 1927 to join her husband in Canada, the journey began in a cart pulled by the family cow riding to the nearest town with a train station. Paul grew up in Regina. An electrical hobbyist, he joined the RCAF 1941 as a radar technician. During World War II he was stationed at RAF base Graveley in Cambridgeshire England. Mentioned in Despatches. After the war Paul studied electrical engineering at the University of Toronto. In 1956 he married Irene Ringer. Soon after they moved to North Bay and raised their family. Paul enjoyed a rewarding 32-year career at Ontario Hydro. Paul was a patient and loving husband and father. He was a very proud and loving grandfather. He will be greatly missed.
