Raymond "Ray" Bellaire Obituary

Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at the Sudbury Health Sciences North on January 7, 2024 at the age of 88. Survived by his wife of 64 years, Bernadette (nee Landry).  Loving father to Mona Dobratz (Bruce), Michael, Lorraine Hamilton (Jamie), Pauline and Richard.  Predeceased by his son, Roland and his parents Edward and Cordelia.  Survived by his siblings Romeo (Rita) and Cecile Scriver.  Predeceased by his siblings Lionel, Exior, Edward, Noella Rose and Adela Chicquen. Papa will be extremely missed by his eight grandchildren: Lonny and Darrell Dobratz (Miranda), Michelle Laroche (Matt), Stephanie Bellaire (Zach), Leda North, Cordelia and Thomas Hamilton, and Lily Blake.  Beloved great-grandfather to Kiana (Tanner), Aaliyah, Emery, Sophia, Lilian, Phoenix, Deklan and Harlan. Dad was born and raised in a French household in Rutherglen.  He learned English with his siblings at a later age.  He is most well-known as a cement mixer operator for 24 years at Precast Concrete.  He spent many summers camping and fishing with his family at Pimisi Bay. Following his retirement, Dad built a camp on his property where the family enjoyed many meals, get-togethers and bonfires.  He was a skilled gardener, lifelong pet owner and puzzle master.  He enjoyed game shows and news programs in his favourite recliner. Dad leaves a legacy of love, family-bonding and a strong work ethic.

Special thanks to Dr. Cong and the nurses on the 5th floor for the compassion and care of Dad and our family in our difficult time.
