Rejeanne "Jeanne" (Guillemette) LeBlond

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Réjeanne, at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on Saturday, December 17, 2022.  Mom was born on November 27, 1937 in Astorville, Ontario. An intimate celebration of her 85th birthday was held with her children shortly before her passing.

She is survived by her children Diane Hampel (Reid), Carole LeBlond (François Génier), Monique Lloyd (Glenn), Jean-Marc and Kerry (Jen); eleven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; siblings Conrad, Lucille, Renaud, Monette, Diane, Germain and Lise.

She is predeceased by her partner Carmen Scharman, her parents René & Marie Guillemette, son Allen (Michèle), grandson Jeff and brother Derval.

Home and family were the center of Mom’s life. Her flower gardens were a testament of her green thumb and brought her great joy

Throughout her life and during her long battle with cancer, Mom remained strong, proud and courageous. She assured us that she was at peace.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Nurse Practitioner Brett Mahy with whom Mom began this long journey; the care received at the North Bay Regional Health Centre; all the caregivers and staff at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice who treated Mom with dignity and respect and made the family feel welcome at all times.  We will remain forever grateful to Dr. Hailey Moore for her dedication and commitment to Mom and family throughout her palliative care.

At Mom’s request, cremation has taken place. The family will be receiving visitors at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday May 5, 2023 between the hours of 11am to 1 pm for a memorial celebration.
