It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ronald Cappadocia in his 61st year Sunday, April 10, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born and raised in North Bay. He was the beloved husband of 29 years to Cathy Cappadocia (nee Doran) and devoted and loving father to Amy Cappadocia and Daniel Cappadocia. He will be dearly missed by his brothers Douglas Cappadocia (Sue) of British Columbia and Gary Cappadocia (Christine) of Hamilton. Ron is predeceased by his parents Dante Cappadocia and Aline (nee Gagnon).
Ron fought a courageous battle with cancer for 14 months. The family was by his side on this difficult journey until the end. They never gave up hope.
Ron was employed with Kenroc for 15 years. When the factory closed, he embraced the challenge and started anew. He attended Sault College and graduated in 1997 with a Fish and Wildlife Diploma. From there, he worked on various contracts with the MNR. He then pursued employment with the City of North Bay and worked for several different departments for 23 years.
Ron enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid fisherman and hunter. In his earlier years he was passionate about riding and owning motorcycles. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and 4 wheeling with family and friends. He loved nothing more than to spend time with his family camping at Marten River Provincial Park. With his camping years behind him, Ron enjoyed relaxing at the family cottage on Lac Gordon in Temiscaming, Quebec, where he loved to sit on the deck with his coffee and watch the loons.
The family would like to thank the North Bay Regional Health Centre and the Sudbury Cancer Centre. Extended thanks to Dr. Jinnah, VON nurses and the nurses at the Chemo Unit.
As per Ron’s wishes a family gathering or celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation has taken place at Whispering Pines Funeral Home’s Crematorium. The family would appreciate donations to the North Bay Regional Health Centre Foundation. Online condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com
