Ronald David Legros

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a dear Son and Brother, Ronald David Legros 61, who went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 29 2022 with his beloved sister Karen at his side. Born April 1 1960, Ron fought a courageous battle with cancer for nearly 4 years and after seeing that his body grew weary the Lord called him home.  

Ron was preceded in death by his mother Susan (Rich) Legros. He will be lovingly remembered by his father Leo Legros, sister Sylvia Trudel (Robbin Besserer), brother John (Treatrang) Legros, sister Janice (Steve) Lawrence, brother Peter (Mary) Legros and sister Karen (Geoff) Low. Nephews, Ken Trudel and Samuel Low and Nieces, Kim Trudel, Rachelle and Majelle Legros, and Jasmin Lawrence.

Ron worked for Fuji Films Canada in Kitchener Ontario for over 20 years where he travelled and had an extensive territory to cover. He met and enjoyed many people along his travels and made many friends. Ron retired from Fuji Films and his dream was to spend as much time as he could enjoying life. 

Ron was known for his quick wit, his smile and kind and compassionate spirit. He loved the Cottage and would spend his free time building, repairing and enjoying the beauty and tranquility of the cottage on lake Kippawa. He was also known for his creativity and craftsmanship and has hand crafted many items that will be passed down for many to enjoy.      

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our cousin Darlene (Pete) Rich who for the past 3 years has been there for Ron. She would drive Ron to London Ontario for his follow up doctor’s appointments and provided support in countless ways.  Ron valued her friendship and she was a blessing to Ron and our family especially in Ron’s final days while he was in Peterborough Regional Health Center.    

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Dr. Beamish and Dr Yeung of Peterborough Regional Health Center and to Nicole Barker BA DSW Care Designer, Nurse Next Door Home Care Services for coordinating private nursing care for Ron. Many thanks to PSW Shaina and PSW Kate. Nicole, Shaina and Kate provided special, professional and dignified care to Ron in his final days at Peterborough Regional Health Center.     

Family and friends may pay their respects at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay) on Friday April 8, 2022, between the hours of 2pm to 4pm and 7pm to 9pm. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday April 9, 2022, in the McGuinty Funeral Home Chapel at 11 am.
