Suzanne Plouffe Obituary

March 16th 2023.  This morning's anticipated winter storm gave way to sparse floating snowflakes and a warm spring breeze.  Sue looked out the window of her hospital room for the last time in awe of the huge pine tree and nesting birds she had been looking at over the past week.  She drew her last breath in the comforting arms of family at the West Nipissing General Hospital after a brief but harrowing battle with cancer.

Sue was the daughter of Palma Tessier (1898-1967) and Lucienne (née Bray 1911-2006).  She had two sisters Claire (1943-1943) and Diane (1946-2001) and a younger foster brother Danny Rochon (1953-1971).   She was married to Bernard Plouffe (1937-2016) whom she loved for over 45 years.  She is survived by her daughters Christine Allard (Denis) and Marguerite Tessier.  She will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Aimée, Miguel and Adelle Allard as well as Sophie, Jake and Zak Cossette.

Sue was an avid gardener, bird watcher and seamstress.  She loved to read, spend time in nature and laugh.  She had a career as an administrative assistant for the federal government and later at the Nipissing Legal Aid Clinic.  Sue was witty, and kept her sense of humour in the darkest of days.  She was courageous, brave and resilient right to the end.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff, nurses, doctors and friends who assisted in making her last moments as comfortable as possible.  Your kindness, understanding and compassion are greatly appreciated.  A private ceremony for the family will be held at a later date.

Donations to the North Bay Bulldogs Football Club in her memory would be appreciated; to make a difference in a child's life through sport, friendship and sense of belonging. Online Condolences can be made at www.mcguintyfuneralhome.com

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
