Yvon "Ivan" Chaput

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our brother Yvon at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice on May 25, 2022.

He is survived by his brothers Leo (Mary), Marc (Nancy), Luc and his sisters Lorraine (Ed) Long and Diane (Glen) Toogood.

He was predeceased by our parents Annette (nee Boissonneault) and Melvial Chaput.

Although some of his journey through life was very difficult, Yvon loved to live life “a planche” (full throttle). He loved a good party with lots of friends, lots of laughs and music.

As told by his ACNBA Clinical Team, he was well respected in his community.  He spoke his mind and was a real storyteller who would often make them laugh.

Yvon had many construction jobs throughout his life, the longest of which was with his twin brother Luc.  They were still living together when Yvon went to the Hospice.

We will remember Yvon for his affectionate nature and his profound love for our mother which she returned unconditionally.

As per Yvon’s wishes, he will be cremated and buried with our parents. There will be no funeral. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Our heartfelt thanks to Harvey (Yvon’s friend/soul brother) for his gift to Yvon.

A special thank you to Yvon’s Clinical Team, Keri, Liam and Saskia for the constant support and assistance they provided during the course of his illness.

Our sincere gratitude and appreciation to Yvon’s Care Team at Nipissing Serenity Hospice (Dr Moore, Amy, Angela, Ashlyn, Bonnie, Cameron, Cassandra C, Cassandra I, Cecile, Cheryl, Dawn, Destinee, Heather, Jennifer, Jessie, Lindsey, Lisa, Monica, Monique, Nancy, Rachelle, Twinkle.  Your compassion and dedication to ensuring care, dignity and peace for Yvon in his end of life is unparalleled, as was your support to our family members.
