Grief Support

We offer bereavement services for the families we serve. In addition, we have provided some helpful grief support links below: 

Near North Palliative Care Network:

The Near North Palliative Care Network (Nipissing/Parry Sound) is the Community Visiting Volunteer Hospice of Nipissing and East Parry Sound Districts since 1987. NNPCN is a registered  charity, B.N. 892020884RR0001 funded by the NELHIN. NNPCN provides one-stop Palliative Care, Bereavement and Grief, and End-of-Life volunteer-based free services, education and training. We have Volunteer Teams in North Bay, Mattawa, Sturgeon Falls and Sundridge and welcome new volunteers in both districts.

Eligibility: 8-Session Grief Support Group: 

  • minimum age 18 and able to commit to all sessions
  • It is recommended that at least three months have passed since the death

Bereavement and Grief program:

  • Open to anyone who has lost a loved one
  • We offer both individual and group grief support sessions.

Near North Palliative Care Network:

Community Counselling Centre is a fully accredited, non-profit organization providing professional counselling services and community programs to individuals, couples, and families. The Centre also has public education and consulting services available to community organizations and industry.

Our mission is to support the health and wellness of the people of Nipissing and area.

While there are fees associated with this program, please note that counselling sessions may be paid by your Employee and Family Assistance Program or Insurance Company within your workplace. counselling services are available days or evenings.

GriefShare

A seminar and support group for those who have lost someone close to them.  Participants watch and discuss a series of videos that help navigate the grief process.

An organization for families who have suffered the death of a child from any cause. Provides contacts to local chapters, articles and information about grieving.
