Elizabeth 'Betty' O'Neill

O’Neill, Betty (nee Laronde)

Born in North Bay on January 1st 1930. Betty has passed into the spirit world on January 11, 2018 in Toronto, Ontario at the age of 88 years. Betty was a proud and independent person. She started to work at a very young age, and had numerous jobs in her lifetime. First she worked as a housekeeper for Gordon S. Gooderham who owned a tourist camp on Lake Temagami where Betty worked as a waitress during the summer in North Bay, she worked in a Formica plant before moving to Toronto to work at M. Grumbacher making artist paint brushes she also was a nurse’s aide and the head manager of the housekeeping staff at a hotel, she worked in brewers retail, and her last job was a home caregiver for the elderly until her retirement a few years ago. Betty was a very hard worker and never one to be idle. She liked helping people and would always give her time and money. Betty loved her family, friends and a good party. Predeceased by her husband Dave O’Neill, parents Dennis and Nellie Laronde, sisters; June, Mary, brothers; Willis and Vincent. Betty will be sadly missed by her sister Ivy, brother-in-law Bill Goodwin, sister’s Jeanette Lalonde, Mabel Laronde, her brother Joe Laronde and many nieces and nephews. In keeping with Betty’s wishes there will be no visitation. Friends and Family are invited to All Saints Mausoleum (132 Golf Club Rd.) on Friday January 19 at 11 am for a prayer service.
