After a brief illness, Leo passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday June 15, 2016 at the North Bay Regional Health Centre. Beloved husband of Florence (Malmstedt) for 59 years. Loving father of Heather and Gerald. Cherished grandfather (Père) of Mathieu and Daniel Desrosiers. Pépère was Mathieu and Daniels’s greatest fan at both their hockey and ball games. Predeceased by his parents Mildred and Peter Arbique, his brothers Alfred (Lena), Rolland and Victor, and his sisters Jeannette, Yvette, Rolande, Mildred and Clarisse. Survived by his sisters Mary, Rita, and Aline, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was recognised by the Canadian Blood Services for his many blood donations. He was a lifetime member of the West Ferris Minor Hockey Association. He will be most remembered as a loving husband, father, Pépère and friend. Cremation has taken place. As per Leo’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. If desired, donations to the NEO Regional Cancer Centre would be gratefully acknowledged.
