To the Lamothe family my deepest sympathies on hearing of Bert's passing. Met Bert when I was 16 when he was our pitcher for our slow pitch team. We were all teenagers on our team outside of Bert, Carl Cook and Bert always made us laugh while keeping us in line!! We all chipped in to bye minnows for his weekly fishing trips and it was Bert who fed out entire team at our annual team fish fry at the end of our ball season! Great four years playing with him!! Please know you are all in my thoughts and prayers during this trying time!!! RIP Bert!

Hi Bert, I was shocked when I heard you had taken your final breath. I immediately thought about Fran and your beautiful children. There are no words that can mend a broken heart or fill the gaping hole when a father, husband and protector passes away. You will be missed and always remembered.

I often think about the fishing trips we went on. We spent hours in the boat, trolling every nook and tiny bend in the lake. You were always the driver and you knew exactly how to navigate to get the best spots, at the best time of day - so we can catch our limit. You could filet a fish and cook them to perfection better than everyone - even in the evening darkness.

I always said "you were home" - when you were in the bush. You were the best bushman I have ever known. You respected the wilderness, took what you needed and didn't leave a trace behind. You took time to show all of us a "thing or two" and small secrets on how to get more fish. You would fix motors, figure out how to get the generator working, bring enough PIC to kill all the bugs within a country mile. I know Fern will remember when you became our emergency surgeon and successfully removed that lure from Fern's hand.

It was a pleasure to get to know you and spend time with you in some of the most beautiful country in the world. I will always remember our time together.

Now that you are gone, I know you will make it your full time job to watch over your family. One day you will be reunited and together again. I truly believe that.

It is with a heavy heart and tears streaming down my face, it is time for me to say one last time, goodbye my friend.

The Kincade's - Steve, Monique, Steven, David
