I have been a customer, a tenant, and a friend of Butch's for more years than I care to admit to. I will sorely miss his honesty, true concern, and his friendship. RIP Butch. Your suffering here on earth is over.

Rest in peace Butch, you deserve every minute of eternal life. I will miss our little talk when you would call the school. You have touched me in a way that in my 30 years working in a school, I will never, never forget you. Know that the boys will be well taking care now.. Watch over them, keep them save.

We all have heavy hearts...our family has known and respected Butch for years. He was a man of integrity...hard working, accommodating and honest...kind and caring! There are not many people in the business world today like Butch! There are not a lot of people in life like Butch! He never lost sight of what was important.
Our sincere condolences go out to Butch's family, Rick Cunningham and staff. He will be missed!

We were sad to get the news yesterday that Butch had passed away earlier this week. Being a customer for many many years and friend Butch and Rick always made you feel at home when visiting Butches Gateway Garage.
You always felt comfort in knowing that your vehicle was in very good hands and in the best mechanical shape it could be when you left Butches shop.
Personally, I will miss all the good talks we had at the table :-).

Our condolences to the family.
Butch RIP

Carl

North Bay lost a great man! Ron (Butch) Degagne. He was my uncle and Godfather. Butch was the kind of man that would try to help anyone who needed it, he had the biggest heart in the world and the kind of man you listened to when he spoke. A little Story: At the age of 63 my father was diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia and Butch at the age of 76 also having his own health problems was one of the first to volunteer to be a stem cell donor. However, my aunt Yvette Brisson (nee Degagne) ended up being the closer match (another Angel in the Degagne family)! This will sum up the kind of man he was. Once my father was admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital for his transplant, Butch would call my mother everyday to ask how my dad was doing and if we needed any anything. In early March my father was admitted to the hospital with an infection, Butch would call my father everyday. My father, not aware that Butch's health was failing because Butch was the kind of man who would never burden him with his own health issues.....

RIP uncle Butch you were a great man!!! And everyone who knew you loved you and respected you! Love you always Gilles & Sylvie

Butch, there are so many times you have taken me for long drives to see the deer and talked to me just like my dad would have. I am so sorry I could not make it last week to pick Caramel up to take her to the vet, as you know after our talk there was a lot going on. I am gonna miss my coffees with you and the long talks and laughs. Channel is gonna miss going to the garage and getting dirty. The boys loved you so much, I could see it their eyes every time we picked them up at school, you were their life. Please rest, as I know you were not feeling well but never said a word. Love you very much and life will certainly never be the same without you xoxoxo
