I have many great childhood memories of Gaetan in Cornwall. He and I went to school together. Also our parents' backyards were connected and I played often with his sister Estelle, whom I still consider a dear friend.
I offer my sincere condolences to Gaetan's immediate and extended family.

Our deepest condolences.
Gator was one of the first firefighters I met when I started with the department and I was fortunate to be assigned to the same platoon many times over the years. He was a positive influence on on every shift he worked and a great mentor to myself and many other firefighters. Gates was always willing to share his knowledge and time with others, on or off the job, and he did it with that great big infectious smile. We're gonna miss ya Brother.

It is with great sorrow that we have learned the passing of one great friend and Fire Fighter of a great respected family. My wife and I would like to offer his charming wife and the family, friends and co-workers our deepest and most sincere Condolences.
Gaetan served on the Bonfield Township Volunteer Fire Department for several years before joining the North Bay Fire Department which he became of great value to the Department and for the City. He was well liked and achieved many good promotions.
He always was very proud of serving the people any where he was...
I wish that God keeps him in His hands and bring him in Haven where I know that's where he belong. He will be missed by all who knew him and worked with him regardless of where it might have been...

Gaetan, what an honour & privilege it's been for me to have known you as a good friend & brother firefighter. You've touched the lives of so many by your peaceful nature & sunny disposition. My days spent with you making maple syrup were very special & you taught me so much. Your pain & suffering is over now. Rest in peace my friend and by the way, I can still hear your laughter!

Connie, Sarah, Lisa and family,
I am sending you all my deepest sympathies. I remember going to your place when I went to school with Sarah many years ago in Bonfield and always seeing your dad/husband so full of life and joy. He had a smile that could light up a room. Breaks my heart that he has been taken so soon from you all. Thinking of you during this difficult time.

Connie and family:
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Gaetan was such a special person who touched our hearts deeply. He was a true example of what a Christian should be, never complaining, always saying how good God is. He considered his time in this world to be a gift and each person he met to be special especially Connie. We will all miss him, but know that he is in the presence of God.

Connie, Lisa and Sarah and family members, our deepest sympathies for Gaetan who left too early. We will remember him. Being a firefighter is such a great career, and I'm sure Geatan put all his courage in helping when people needed him and his co-workers. May he rest in peace and be assured our prayers will be with you all through this difficult time. We are so sorry that we won't be able to attend because we'll be gone on the 21st. My deepest sympathies Connie to you, Lisa and Sara, Michael and Bonnie and to all the extended family. I was so sad to hear that Gaetan lost his battle against cancer. He fought hard and courageously. I fondly remember the many summers we would visit and he always made us fell welcomed. Steph and Chris will always cherish the memories of their visits to North Bay.

Gaetan was a great man and his memory will live forever in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He was a hard worker but also liked to have a good time after the chores were done. Friends and family were very important to him. When I think of Gaetan, I can almost hear his distinct laughter. It was so infectious. You will be dearly missed Gator. May you rest in peace. Diane xoxo

Once in a while, God sends a great man in our lives to show our the richness of his promises and Gaetan was such a man. The joy and strength he drew from his faith and how he lived his life is a testimony to God’s love and his personal relationship with Gaetan – a relationship that Gaetan shared over and over again. The love – the incredible love that has surrounded Gaetan was a grace shared with his friends, the brotherhood of fireman that were a constant, his faith community but mostly with his family – Connie, his children and grandchildren. Every day, Gaetan took his suffering and placed them at the cross and offered them up. He believed in God’s mercy and was offered a number of consolation through his illness. He was a blessing in my life and I will remember him always. I can’t say good-bye … just aurevoir.. until we meet again.
