It is with great sadness that the family announces the death of GIOVANNI CARUSO, age 90, at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family.

 Born in 1927 in Filadelfia, Calabria, Italy, Giovanni married the love of his life Rosa in 1949, and the two raised five children together. Giovanni was a loyal member of the Davedi Club since 1960. He took great pride in his amazing vegetable garden and winemaking, which he graciously shared with family and friends. But his greatest pleasure in life was the time that he spent with his loving family. Left to cherish his memory, Giovanni is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Rosa (nee Provenzano), by his children, Vittoria (Mariano Cirullo), Mary Ann McCubbin, Dominic (Cathy), Carmen (Kerry) and Frank (Cathy). He will be remembered with love by his adoring Grandchildren; Julie (Adolfo Crea), Michael Mancari (Andria), Andrew, Carlene and Victoria McCubbin, Christopher, Kimberley and Colleen Caruso, Nicholas and Matthew Caruso and his Great Grandchildren; Michaela and Stevie Crea and Owen, Gregory and Olivia Mancari. He is preceded in death by his parents; Domenico Caruso and Vittoria ( nee Moutoro), his infant daughter Antonietta, his sister Marianna Dastoli, and his son-in-law; Girolamo Mancari. Family and friends will be received at McGuinty Funeral Home (North Bay), Monday, April 17, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Holy Name of Jesus Church (146 Beth Avenue) at 11 am, Tuesday, April 18, 2017. Entombment to follow at All Saint’s Mausoleum (128 Gold Club Road). In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations can be made in Giovanni’s Memory to the Northeast Cancer Centre or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
