Dear Cecile
You don't know me I'm a family friend from Manitouwadge; I used to refer to Laurent as my second Dad.
I offer my sincere condolences on your great loss.
I pray that you can find the peace, comfort and strength you will need .... From the blessed opportunity/gift of having been loved by such a sweet, kind and caring, generous, and gentle loving man of honour and integrity.
As I'm sure your friendship and love were a blessing & comfort to him as well.

May you also find comfort that Jesus too understands your ache and loss- having learned of the loss of His dear friend,Lazarus, John 14:35-36 ....
And He gave us...
1Corinthians 13:13

I will keep you in my prayers,

Allow me to offer my condolences for the loss of your father. Take comfort in that your parents lived very full lives from the family upbringing on Swallow Drive in Manitouwadge, to their retirement years in the North Bay area. My brother (Jacques) and I were pleased to see them at some of the festivals we organized in Mattawa and Sturgeon Falls. They always took the time to say hello and catch up. Great people.. Celebrate the great memories.

Dear Anne, Carole, Monique and Diane (spouses, grand children and great grandchildren)

I'm sorry to hear of your great loss. My heart aches for you.
I was very fortunate and blessed to have called your parents, my 'Mom & Dad ll.' I have treasured many fond, loving & humorous memories of them ... They always had those beautiful happy smiles on their faces, they were truly a great love story and their joy and love grew as you girls matured and brought spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren into their lives!
I remember your Dad as being a great big cuddly teddy bear! He always had a beautiful smile on his face, gave great hugs and really made me feel like one of his own kids- thank you for sharing that part of him with me. (& for sharing your Mom too!)
My greatest regret is that I let life get in the way and that I didn't keep in touch. (Your Dad's (com)passion for the less fortunate is dear to my heart as well.)
All of you are so blessed to have had such great role models growing up with such immense love, have witnessed their faith & the love that they had for each other and for each of you, and for the many many people that were blessed to meet and know them through the years.
Your father is a man of honour and integrity, a strong man of faith, he lived/led a life with Jesus compassionate heart within him.
Dear friends, I know the faith and love & precious memories (their legacy) your parents shared with you -will give you the comfort, peace, and solace that you will need, to sustain you until you are reunited with Dad, your Mom, Lise and Kevin ....once again.
Love & prayers and many hugs
Corinna Yurchak

Dear Di
I am so very sorry that you have lost your Dad. I met him only once but certainly heard you speak of him many times and always with love and much affection. In particular, I think of his helping you and Robin with your deck and the "lattice" wall.

He was larger than life in many ways and I know you will miss him very much. But Di, you gave him so much and no one fought harder for him when he had medical issues. You are such a caring person and from what I read, you got a great deal of that from your Dad.

I'll see you when you get back home - safe journey.

So sorry to hear of Mr. Dumais's passing. He had a profound love for his family and his faith, and a great sense of humour which he shared generously. When he spoke about his children and grandchildren he was so proud; his eyes lit up like the stars in the sky, and his smile was as broad as could be. May you have many happy memories once your tears are slowed. Kathleen P. Toronto

My sincere condolences to Laurent's family and to Cecile and her family as well. I met Larry through my friend Marc Mantha and his mom Cecile and even though I didn't know Larry long, what a lasting impression he made on me in the short time that I did. He was such a positive and kind man and I will miss him very much!

The tide recedes but leaves behind
bright seashells on the sand.
The sun goes down, but gentle warmth
still lingers on the land.
The music stops, and yet it echoes
on in sweet refrains..
For every joy that passes,
something beautiful remains.

Such kind words and the loveliest of poem. They really do bring some comfort as we face the prospect of this sweet, sweet man having left our physical world - knowing that he is not really gone. We will surely do our very best to keep his memory and legacy alive in our hearts, words and deeds.

Thank you for your support of all of us over December 5 and 6 at the visitation and funeral and especially for your ongoing support of Marc and Cecile. He cared so deeply for the Mantha's and I know they feel his physical loss too.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and all residents at Nipissing Condo No 17, I express our deepest condolences to Laurent's family. We enjoyed many years of Laurent's assistance and friendship both as a member of the Board and a neighbour. He will be missed but certainly never forgotten.

Thank you for the opportunity to share blessings with our local foodbank. A donation honouring your Dad will be made to the Havelock Food Bank from Theresa Gerow, Chris, Karen, Kathy, Connie and their families xo. Karen and Family
Thank you so much for keeping us in your thoughts on December 5 and 6 and for your kind words honouring my Dad, here. Your family held such a special place in my Dad's heart - he cherished the memories from Haileybury, Manitouwadge and California and Havelock. Nothing made him happier then sitting in on a family Jam!!
And I love that Havelock Food Bank is benefiting in his memory, Karen. Helping those in his community who had less was always important to him. He was such a good man. Sigh.

We are really looking forward to seeing some of you in August! Stay tuned for details for August 19!

Our deepest condolences to all of your family at this difficult time. We have been in North Bay these past few years, and loved to see your dad at church. Always had a hug for him as he was such a link to our history in Manitouwadge and family. He always spoke proudly of his family and had a sparkle when he was going on a trip to visit one of his kids. Bruce says thanks to all the coaching he got from Lawrence in his Geco days. He has always had great respect for your dad. May God comfort you all. God Bless

Thanks for your message, Andrea and for your hugs at the viewing. It warms my heart to think he got some hugs in with you these last years. Manitouwadge and all its residents held such a special place in his heart and those hugs would have been such a gift. I can see the twinkle now as I think about how he would have smiled when talking about us....and his other love, Geco lol. Thanks to Bruce for the respect - my Dad meant the very best in his teaching, even if he was a bit tough on his guys (and us girls). We are all better for it!

Wishing you, Bruce and the kids all the very best. With affection and appreciation.

Mrs. Wall,
Thank you for this lovely note. We count our blessings that my Dad's last years included his beloved companion Cecile and a continued commitment to his faith. Both brought him such joy and comfort. In his last days, it was prayer and song that eased his mind the most and we (with sweet Cecile) were glad to share those with him. May his faith and your meeting continue to inspire your learning, as it does ours.

On behalf of my sisters and I, please accept our gratitude and a wish that comfort and joy find you this holiday season and for the year to come.

Thank you for your kind words, Finley!
The priest actually spoke about your parents during my Dad's funeral mass - how my Dad "suggested", he should visit your parents. He was of course reminding many of us that my Dad's suggestions could be rather "firm" lol. Father Tony talked about what a lesson it was for him as a young priest to meet such kind and generous souls, who never complained to the world about their physical challenges. They were so generous. My Dad was a GREAT admirer of your parents and so were all my sisters and I (I visited the rocks more then a few times). It truly brought tears of sweet remembering and warm smiles shared between us girls.
Wishing you comfort and joy in these holidays and for 2017.
