My deepest condolences to Monica's family and daughter Amanda. I was away all winter and only heard of Monica's passing from Cindy the day after the funeral.
I had many fun times with Monica sitting around the bar at the Portage Hotel. We also spent wonderful days in Mexico when a large group from North Bay went together. Monica and I shared many laughs together that trip. The picture of her reminds me of her on that trip...laughing and looking up towards the sun.
I'm so saddened by her passing and will miss her deeply.

Dear Gebhart Family,

We are so deeply saddened at the loss of Monica. She was an amazing, strong, and compassionate person. She was a very loyal friend. We will miss her terribly...but we want to believe that when we lose someone close, she still lives through us and gives us strength. The time we have spent with those we've lost makes them part of us.

With deepest sympathies,
Tricia and Roger

Dear Amanda,

I am truly saddened by your mum's death. Monica was more than just one of best friends, she was like a sister. She was an amazing person. She was always so kind and considerate to Roger and I that we always welcomed seeing her at every opportunity. Her passing will not only leave a void in our lives, but in the hearts of everyone who knew her.

My sincere thoughts are with you.

My dear Monica...RIP

I am so very sad to hear of this news. My heart goes out to Amanda and all other family members of this fantastic lady. I worked with Monica for 1 of her 35 years with DND where we spent many a moment laughing, and a few crying.

Monica shared her life stories freely, spoke of family with pride and was starting many new adventures leading up to retirement.

Amanda, your mother talked about you daily and beamed while doing so. She was such a strong woman. Strength and courage to you in these tough times ahead.

Jaime from Central Registry

Thank you for using this photo, it is how I remember Monica best, laughing up into the sunshine. Was looking at a photo of her last week on Dapneys FB page in the boat and was thinking how happy she looked on the water. Had some great times with her. I remember spending a couple of weeks with the family one summer when you were stationed in The Montreal area I think it was, Monica was always in charge. You will be missed my dear cousin. You are now an Angel. Looking down on us from above. Your wings will look great, you always looked nice in white. Wish I could be with you all as you pay tribute to this lovely lady. My Condolences to Amanda, and all the Gebhart Clan. You are in my prayers. Monica always in our hearts and only a memory away. RIP much love Donna and Michael MacInnis.

I was so very saddened to hear of Monica's passing. Our daily chats and fun bantering at work at the base, as well as our friendship and get togethers since our retirements, will sorely be missed. Monica was such a fabulous mother to Amanda, always worrying about her well-being while she was pursuing her educational goals. Monica was a wonderful friend, extremely kindhearted and had a great sense of humour, and I will forever remember her great laugh.
